As reported in last month’s newsletter, we started the removal of the garden area. The area has been stripped back and is now being used as a storage area for the scaffolders and our new green route in and out of site. It also is now our designated break out/smoking area for our operatives to use.
The site entrance has now changed from Argyle Street to Euston Road where we are now using a biometric turnstile to gain entry to site. This has meant that the whole site has been given a fingerprint ID to gain access/egress to site.
Demolition works have commenced on the south elevation staircase. We are again using the robotic Brokk to carry out these works. Once the removal is complete they will make way for a brand new staircase, but more on that in further editions.
Works are progressing well in the basement 2 area. We have just completed the final concrete pour for the base of the goods lift. The next stage of the construction will be lift shaft walls.
The roof demolition work is coming to an end. We have now removed the roof slab and most of the wall panels and plinths. As you can see from the pictures the works have really come on.
Planned works for August/September
- Demolition of plant room roof continues
- Façade cleaning commences
- Goods lift base works continues
- Tonbridge walk hoarding continues
- Window replacements commence
- McLaren site cabins installation
